Know what the least enjoyable part of a crochet project is for me? Foundation chains – specifically, putting stitches into long chains. Sometimes I can work around that part by using chainless foundation stitches, but there are plenty of patterns where there’s no escaping the chain. And yet, without that tedious first row, the rest of the piece wouldn’t be possible. You’ve got to start somewhere.
So it is for this editing endeavor as well. There are courses to complete, social media accounts to set up, documents and contracts to design, and likely more little things that I haven’t realized yet. Getting all those tasks squared away is challenging and often more work than I expected—I’d hoped to be up and running a month ago!—but it’s necessary work, and, like a foundation chain, only needs to be done once. (I hope.)
A bright spot for me is that even though there are still some pieces to fit into place, I feel I’m at a point where I can start picking up client work! I’m excited to start helping designers publish standout patterns. Which means… if you or someone you know is interested in scheduling a tech edit, please reach out to me via my contact page and let’s talk!
